Exergy carried out an energy efficiency and engineering study at Coventry University. The main goal was to achieve significant energy and cost savings by using innovative technologies and project delivery methods.

Service

Exergy adapted the BIM methodology starting from planning until the delivery of the project. The effective implementation of BIM enabled us to save time and cost when collecting site-information and communicating with other project stakeholders.

Challenge

Exergy coordinated the deployment of innovative technologies in the campus buildings which worked as a living lab for energy efficient retrofitting activities.

Exergy provided energy efficiency consultancy to monitor and assess the impact of the different retrofitting activities. 

 

Outcome

The technologies installed in the campus included:

  • Phase Changing Material (PCM) integrated passive cooling
  • Aerogel - based insulation mortar
  • Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIP)
  • Building Integrated PV panels
  • Ventilated Façade
  • Solar PV systems
  • Exergy provided energy efficiency consultancy to monitor and assess the impact of the different retrofitting activities.
